About The Artwork

Part of an ongoing series based on science. How are our lives anchored to reality but wants to drift elsewhere. I am always amazed the layering that comes with acrylics, which ads to my vision of the subconscious in this series. The canvas ships rolled in a secured tube to save shipping costs. Unstretched canvas measure approximately 47 inches tall x 38 inches wide. Suggested stretching dimensions with 1.5 inch deep standard stretcher bars (not included), will measure approximately 40 inches tall x 32 inches wide (size shown in main image). Stretching the canvas can be done for a nominal fee by a local frame shop. Canvas can also be displayed unstretched. Finished piece has a Professional UV-Resistant clear coat over the top to protect the canvas. Signed and dated on the back. Art can be displayed horizontally or vertically.

The work I create is about contemplation—pausing for a moment to appreciate the history in our lives. I ask the viewer to step off life’s speedy treadmill and analyze these imaginary timelines I make with vintage paper and paint. Using reclaimed paper, manuals, magazines and textbooks I create layered artwork that demands more than the casual glance. My art is about juggling time, color and balance. I always strive to create art that is bold, physical and has an overall element of fun. The editing process is about layering–adding and covering back up. My current work is rugged and blends areas of control with those of absolute chaos, wielding paint, markers, spray paint and using whatever tools I can find to make a mark.
