"Art is Relative" reflects the diversity of artistic expression across different cultures. While Venus was celebrated as a prominent female figure in European art, Japan depicted entirely different female figures, such as Geishas. During my visit to Japan, I encountered a distinct artistic landscape that captivated me. Inspired by these contrasts, I aimed to merge two different representations of women from opposite sides of the world into a single artwork. Utilizing red and black hues to draw attention to both aspects of the painting, I chose oil painting for its ability to convey smoothness and detail, particularly in rendering facial features.
