Asphalt Jungle Painting

My work is like an organised confusion. A contrast between movement and standstill, between control and improvisation. It’s a dynamic standstill of time with striking colour combinations, which evokes all kinds of conflicting emotions. The theme of the paintings is existential. There’s one coördinating line in it which is the ‘the speed of an industrial society’. It depicts the society as a metaphor for the desolate condition of an industrial society. Every painting to me is a struggle or a fight with the paint, sometimes even an outburst coming straight from my heart living in this materialistic world. The light romances the heavy theme. As a result, the work possesses a complex stratification. The actual spirit of todays consumer society reflects in my work whether in a romantic way or a controversial way. They are captured in snapshots of paint.
