About The Artwork

From the time I was a small child, I have always been been intrigued and fascinated by science, technology, space exploration. Using my self-taught pendulum painting technique, this painting is my interpretation of the Kuiper asteroid belt in our very own Milky Way galaxy. I hope you will feel the awe and excitement of outer space and deep space exploration when you look at this beautiful and inspiring acrylic pendulum painting. --Mark PLEASE NOTE: This artwork is made-up of (4) separate 10"x10" panels that come together to form the overall/completed artwork. I use acrylic paints and various mediums to thin the paint for the right texture and flow on the canvas. To complete each painting, the canvas is finished with a glossy topcoat of polyurethane on the top and sides for extra sheen & protection, so the painting will last for years to come. This painting will come to you ready-to-hang and signed by me on the back along with the year it was painted.

Hello; I am a contemporary abstract artist, living in Minneapolis, Minnesota USA. With bold colors and vibrant emotion, I create canvas paintings that are open to your interpretation and hopefully invoke the same feelings of awe and wonder that I experience when creating them. To create my paintings, I mostly use a self-constructed paint pendulum device that is governed by gravity, physics and my artistic touches. The pendulum swings in an orderly fashion, but must also adhere to the unbreakable laws of physics and gravity. Because of that, the pendulum movement is usually very orderly and precise. However, sometimes the pendulum movement can be somewhat chaotic and unpredictable. I manually guide the pendulum to complete various circles and ellipses and sometimes redirect it to achieve a more chaotic and abstract effect, but the resulting artwork is ultimately a product of my artistic touches, gravity and physics. I would be thrilled to create something special and unique for you! If you are interested in a commissioned artwork from me, you can contact me using email at MJGRANNEMAN@GMAIL.COM . I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I enjoyed creating it!
