Aston Martin/reflection No.3 Painting

Reflection Reflection, unusual and extraordinary reflection. That's what I want to capture and transmit to the viewer. Expression of a realistic and at the same time, of a very abstract form. I want the one that stands before the painting to be able to capture that moment of interlace, slowly untying the knot where the two opposites are mixed together with what I see and feel. Probably in that way, he would steal a little piece of me. Since my student days I was inspired by the classical and modern (abstract) art. These are the two different art movements that I want to give a point of connection, an overflow in unity, as unique time that by itself is eternal constant. Old vintage cars proved to be excellent objects in the process, which posing with their design from another era, provoke me to convey that time interval here and today and the atmosphere in which they were created. However, on the other hand I find myself in a position of creator of something else, of the road from yesterday to today, mist and vague, like turbulence, like life. That is why parts of the paintings are painted realistically, even hyper-realistic, while others are more abstract. The paintings are in technique oil on canvas. When I am painting, I use photography so I can reliably capture the whole atmosphere, not just the car as a cut off non-existent object. We are all part of an atmosphere and environment, and it is that that mostly transmits the spirit and the contour of the time. Although the paintings are hyper realistic, they contain a lot of free movement, because I still want the painting to be a painting, rather than a reflection of photography. Zlatko Tancev
