Painting with acrylic paint on canvas, and paper, his work explores the strength, resilience and beauty of the human spirit. His artworks are mostly abstract expressing dreams, ideas, memories, emotions with vivid colors. Sourcing media, memory, and his imagination, Rudy constructs a realistic central theme against minimal and abstracted backgrounds, persuading the viewer that the compelling conditions surrounding us could merely be challenging illusions. Light plays an important role in his work, as well as movement of colors. Rudy’s work is about capturing the essence of certain light through effortless brush strokes and movements. He is known for his use of thick sculptural paint and strong, spontaneous brush work. He continues to work with subject matters that best capture the essence of abstract or modern Impressionism. Through his work, Rudy seeks to encourage the viewer to envision being elevated, illuminated, and expansive. Many of his works have been exhibited in galleries in Greece, USA, Holland, Italy, Belgium in private collections.
