Autumn Sunrise Painting

Autumn Sunrise was inspired by the brisk Fall mornings on the eastern plains of New Mexico, when the air is both dark pearly blue and bright copper with remnants of yellow leaves. That time of year when a lightly foggy morning fills the lungs with gladness, just to be alive. I used a good amount of metallic copper paint in this piece and it makes the painting come to life, changing throughout the day as the light source changes. The canvas is hardboard on a wood frame. The back is finished with brown paper and hanging hardware (D-ring hangers and wire.) The depth of the painting makes it ready to hang, no frame necessary.
