OIL ON CANVAS 70cm X 50cm X 3.2cm This is one of my Allegoric paintings, a series which is painted in a poster format and is a Pop-Art style of mine. The piece is painted on a thick gallery wrapped canvas and does not need a frame. I designed ‘Black Cat’ upon a real person I know, who would have more than enough to write an epic of misfortune and it is not that he looks for it. It just happens and it often happens to him. I have to admire my friend though, he does what he can and despite all the mire, he still manages to have a laugh with it all, or half a one at least, even with the cloud above him. In the painting though, the soaked man actually has a whole storm under his umbrella. You’ll notice however, that there is a rainbow and it is bright around him as well, which is a tribute to his character. When things are slightly up, he sees the sunny side of things. When things are indeed up, he’ll probably take the mickey out of you. So try to take some heart out of this for when you are on the down side of things and remember that it is not always you. If you can, reach out for that rainbow on the outside. Hopefully, it will help with the subsiding of the storm. Ref: OAL3/11

Jason is a painter and illustrator of various styles and different media for different ends. Principally a surrealistic and abstract artist, he has a fondness for satire and caricature, with a hint of humour fantasy and the whimsical. Nevertheless, there is a realistic and a sober aspect to some of his work too. His different genres of works are ongoing series which are added to from time to time, whether it is his Aviary, Abstract, Allegoric or any other style he employs. World events, social affairs and politics draw his attention, but he can be inspired by everything and anything seen, heard or felt. His expression can be direct or ambiguous. What is prevalent throughout his work is light, movement and flow, hardly any black is employed, leaning towards enlightenment.
