As incredible as it can be, I started this painting with no intention whatsoever, but at the end, I saw a beautiful blue bird flying up, coming from its nest. Liliana Guzman was born in Mexico City in 1949 in a Mexican family of eight children. Since she was 10 years old, she started to paint on ceramics and porcelain with her grandmother who was a teacher and had a workshop where she taught how to paint on these materials. Liliana throughout her life continued her art studies which have been a combination of self taught, private teachers, as well as formal art schools in different parts of Mexico. She currently lives in Cuernavaca, Morelos, Mexico. A place with a moderate temperature, full of flowers, and many birds; a place full of color from which she gets her inspiration. Her inspiration comes also from the greatest painters Mexico has had as Frida Kahlo, Siqueiros, Diego Rivera, Tamayo, among others. Liliana prefers to paint with acrylics and oil. She has painted landscapes, faces, fruits, bodies, the sea, and vegetation. Currently she is painting abstract art. She likes to paint abstract art because it is a challenge how to go on the canvas, how to discover new ways, how to play what the painting itself wants.
