ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The work belongs to the Concrete Art cycle: it’s a tribute to the artistic movement created by Theo Van Doesburg in the 1920s, as opposed to abstract arts, which later also developed into music and literature. While abstract works have reality as their starting point, which they interpret and elaborate, Concretism aims to contribute to reality with the work itself. In this sense, the work is the artist's "creation".

DRAGANI RAFFAELE, alias RAF ( ) is an international artist: his works are sold in Auctions&Private sales. The RAF’s research on abstraction starting from the sixties reaches today with works born from a language of freedom linked to the evolution of an American historical and cultural memory such as abstract expressionism and action painting. RAF paints according to Kandinsky’s theory on the use of color, glimpsing a very close connection between a work of art and a spiritual dimension. Color can have two possible effects on the viewer: a "physical effect", superficial and based on momentary sensations, determined by the retina's registration of one color rather than another; a "psychic effect" due to the spiritual vibration (produced by the psychic force of man) through which the color reaches the soul. It can be direct or occur by association n with the other senses. The psychic effect of color is determined by its sensitive qualities: color has a smell, a taste, a sound. Therefore, red, for example, awakens the emotion of pain in us, not because of an association of ideas (red-blood-pain), but because of its own characteristics, its "inner sound" Some art historians who wrote about him: - Francesco Alberoni - Vittorio Sgarbi - Massimo Pasqualone - Salvo Nugnes - Maria Organtini - Erminia Turilli - Many others
