These pieces from the "Back with the city" series are inspired by the city soundscapes, sometimes those are just sounds, sometimes music from another room, or coming from the radio. It is an act of embracing the city while being back after slow summer of 2020 down to the countryside. Featured in the Week Collection on Saatchi Art’s homepage on the 4th of January 2021 https://www.saatchiart.com/art-collection/New-This-Week-01-04-2021/153961/402603/view

Russia
Mila Nishatova is an artist based in Moscow, Russia. Her works mostly reflect on a people's relationships with themselves, refracted structure of a human memory in a subtle attempt to expose time and probe the reality for any objectivity. Born in Moscow in 1981, she graduated in Electronics Engineering in 2004 and in Photography 2007. Engaged in photography since 2008, fondly bound to street and film photography, which led to the development of her personal visual language. When in 2010 she started working with analog photography, that influenced her perception of the creative process: when one witnesses objects softly appear on a blank sheet of paper in a dark room, there is an inevitably feeling that comes to be observed, that we all are nothing more than a conductor between the surrounding world and others, like a transmitter or a mere media. Mila came to abstract painting in 2015, while travelling and volunteering on rural farms in Portugal and Scotland, when the camera was left behind yet the urge of the interaction with the world, to become another media was overwhelming. In 2016, she fully embraced abstract painting, observing a relationship with colours and researching a sense of uncertainty. In 2021-2022 her focus shifted towards the inevitability of time, the perception of reality and nature of fear.
