This painting describes the light at the end of the day peering through trees. I love to paint the Blue Mountains forest in NSW Australia. It's delightful walking through the bush that runs along a cliff line where you can see glimpses of the valley through the messy crowded trees.

Depicting the Australian bush, busy with trees is my focus. I'm interested in environmental issues such as back burning, conservation and forest regeneration. My work is characterised by the depiction of light twinkling through trees and foliage, capturing the end of the day, where the light is at its best. Painting predominantly in oil paint and drawing are my two favoured mediums. I like to recreate the energy and love I have of the bush through different mark making techniques and the use of vibrant colour combinations, while establishing a sense of depth so the viewer can lose themselves in my work.
