ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This painting was done at my Baltic Sea residency where I spent a lot of time at the sea watching the light changing in the evenings. The sheer beauty of those light shows made me always happy and relaxed and calm. Abstract colorful contemporary watercolor on professional watercolor paper. Light scratches on the paper are part of the painting and belong to my painting style. Small parts of the paper are unpainted. 40x40 cm unframed, signed on the back and on the 50x50 cm mat. Certificate of Authenticity. Watercolor on professional watercolor paper. (c) Gesa Reuter 2019, all rights reserved. COLORS: Please be aware that monitors may show colors slightly different from reality, especially blues and greens. It is almost impossible to avoid that! SHIPPING: Please note, your order may be subject to import duties and taxes which are applied when the delivery reaches that destination. I have no control over these charges and I cannot predict their amount. You will be responsible for payment of any such import duties and taxes. Please contact your local customs office for further information before placing your order.

Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
