About The Artwork

This canvas from the project that based on a true-life story of artist. Here I have splashed out all the indignation and the protest against the bank anarchy which has influenced directly me, as an artist. I got a mortgage in a bank for a studio. At the peak of the crisis the bank, instead of helping the client, lifted my interest rate, which has aggravated already intolerable situation. I understood - they will never die out, despite this everyday pity news on television channels how they burst, BАNK’S NOT DEAD! In Ukraine there is complete outrage because the gone bankrupt banks receive huge sums of refinancing from the state, but for simple people a loop on a neck is getting tight: the banks do not return deposits, and at the same time raise % of the rate for people who took credits! In the works I use the punk stylistics which was born as the protest. And with this mighty energy of the punk movement I wish to break the armor of cars, heads, hearts and indifference of the society of bankers-politicians-moneybags. In this project was installation, video, sculptural objects and performance. It is not just exhibition – it is the whole movement which should wake the people up. & I created a message for this movement: BАNK’S NOT DEAD is my copyright. Exhibition space was my lending studio in the center of city. The project sounded noticeable and relevant to many people. The media showed great interest in it, and stories appeared on TV and in newspapers. Subsequently, paintings are exhibited at other exhibitions and successfully sold at auctions.
