Be Magnified Painting

Joan Stevenson is a Texas based artist who spent her early years in Australia and New Zealand, where drawing was an important part of most school classwork, regardless of the subject. She studied Fine Art at the University Of Texas - Arlington and the University of Dallas - Rome, Italy campus, but set it aside after graduation to take an unrelated career path, and start a family. When the pandemic hit in 2020 and the company she worked for offered an early retirement package, she took the plunge and dove back into creating, but this time it wasn't for graded assignments done to a professors specifications or preferences. This time, it came from a place of wanting to make sense of what was happening in the world, wanting to surround herself with beautiful, meaningful, colorful art that would lift up and encourage. It came from a spiritual place that creates peace and hope with the colors and subjects and scenes. Joan is now a full time artist and a certified mental health coach with a small studio in the Dallas Ft Worth area. She welcomes visitors to her studio to see more of her work or to discuss commissions and personalized, signed, limited edition prints.
