Aleksandr Dubrovskyy (b. 1949) is a Ukrainian impressionist painter and monumental mosaic artist with more than 50 years of professional artistic practice. Born in Orynen, Khmelnytskyi region, Ukraine, he graduated from the Kharkiv State Art School in 1969. He studied under Karl Tanpeter, a disciple of renowned Ukrainian painter and educator Alexey Kokel. During his artistic development, Dubrovskyy was influenced by leading masters of the Ukrainian school, including Kostiantyn Lomykin, Fedir Zakharov, Mykola Glushchenko, Viktor Shatalin, and Tetiana Yablonska. Since 1972, he has participated in numerous national and international exhibitions throughout Europe, Asia, and Africa. In 1987 he became a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Alongside his easel paintings, Dubrovskyy created major monumental mosaic commissions for the Cathedral of Saint Mina in Alexandria, Egypt, and St. George's Cathedral at the historic Vydubychi Monastery in Kyiv. His contribution to the Saint Mina Monastery was documented by the Ukrainian national newspaper Dzerkalo Tyzhnia. Working primarily in the tradition of Impressionism and plein air painting, Dubrovskyy explores light, atmosphere, and the emotional essence of nature through expressive brushwork and luminous color. His paintings reflect decades of direct observation and a lifelong dedication to landscape. His works are represented in museum and private collections across Europe, Asia, Africa, and North America.
