Beethoven Ode To Joy Painting

Born in The Netherlands. Working out of a studio, an old converted barn, in Fort Langley, British Columbia, Canada. Having painted in various styles over the years I have again chosen the abstract expressionist style for my art-form of expressing the various feelings and emotions of classical music. Music so very beautiful and moving also deeply meaningful. While the music of Bach, Beethoven, Mozart, etc. is playing on my studio sound system, I intuitively bring to the canvas my expressive abstract compositions. Music in all its tonal abstractness has much in common with the abstract expressionist style of art. Therefore, my artwork is influenced and is usually titled after one of the works I listened to at that time. I credit my dear wife Boukje, an accomplished musician herself, through whom I came to know and love this magical wonderful universe of classical music, and who encouraged me in expressing this on canvas
