'Believe' Painting

'Believe' is inspired by the beautiful geisha figure. She is bound to a strict set of rules, in behaviour as well as outer appearrance. Yet there is a free women within. In modern soceity we tend to think we are free, but are we really? As an artist I am exploring the concept of freedom. The geisha is one of my favorite subjects, because I am always curious if she feels free or not. 'Believe' represents the trust found deep within, that I am on my true path. Everything is possible! The blossom stands for the beauty and impermanence of Life. The work is painted on a wooden panel with vibrant colours, with brush and palet knife so on some points quite thick layers of paint. It comes in a black frame with hanging material.
