Berlin U-Bahn Painting

When I graduated from the Royal College of Art I was painting large abstract paintings. However I was always fascinated in the potential of paint to create illusions particularly the illusion of space and depth. So I started painting figuratively again, although the lessons I had learnt at art school were not forgotten. Besides my own work I have also worked as a paintings conservator and taught art in adult classes as well as summer schools. Commissions have included two large oils from Nottingham Council for their new Council Chamber. In 2006 I was artist in residence at Garsington Opera. My work is in the collections of Lindblad Travel, Paris Blues, Nottingham Council and Hammersmith Hospital. Bridgeman Images holds forty one images of my work and some of my paintings are available in postcard and greeting card format from Towell and Scott.
