About The Artwork

Three Tree Series: A tree is a tree is a tree. This series began as a contemplation of transformation both real and imagined. Images of trees outlined with data tree structures painted on stained wooden panels. These are the three layers of trees. How many trees do you see? These paintings are remnants of an abstract experiment exploring pattern recognition, intuitive system building and generally flattening the organic into an ossified lattice structure. But these painting are not only deconstructive, analytical investigations; they contain a wink at the wonder in our shadowy subconscious. Upon closer examination you will notice that the white networks lack a nodal vertex. These crossing points are only associative. In the dark, these points are illuminated by phosphorescent medium and the image of a tree is seen as a crystalline structure of light. ------------- P.S. While viewing these works, a brief remembrance came to me as the following poetic verse. Look down at daylight casting shadows of trees on the dust Look up at the night sky Outlining stars wink amongst the branches

Shipping & Returns

Delivery Time:Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

I find inspiration in developing visual recipes that deconstruct the phenomena of pattern recognition to create images bordering between illustration and abstraction. I paint simple gestalt patterned nets that resemble mosaics, cross stitch, or pixilation. With these “cognitive nets”, I create pictorial series that have explored topics including semiotics, anthropomorphism, cartography, identity, preservation and transformation.
