Exorcising inner demons with color since birth. My name is Riccardo Sghedoni, I'm an italian painter based in Modena. I've been exploring the arts since I was a child, and I've always loved every form of artistic expression. I write (by now I've got a historical novel and a poetry collection under my belt, as well as another book tentatively in the works), draw logotypes, make customized illustrations and graphic/digital work, although painting is my main occupation. My paintings are extremely colorful and I like them to be thought-provoking: reality is often too bleak by itself to stare at a dull painting. I apply thin layers of paint, and barely use any medium to alter it, enhance its fluidity or speed up the drying process. I like playing with words, and to give my work historical references and meanings. Titles often stem from music or songs (huge rock and metal fan here, hehe). As bright as my art can be, my interests are quite dark: all sort of eerie mysteries, ancient cultures, the occult and horror are definitely my thing. I own a little gallery/workshop in my hometown where I work, teach and showcase my creations. Show support to living artists, the dead ones don't need it (nor do the godd*mn AI).
