About The Artwork

Silver birch trees have always captured my imagination growing up in New England. The soft white bark with distinct dark calligraphic-like markings. Mother Nature at her best. I wanted to create a painting that merged the fall into the winter season, showing the last hint of fall color against a grey new winter landscape. I was drawn to the minimal color palette of greys and golds and thought they looked lovely together. Stretched gallery canvas, 1.5" deep. Framing is not necessary, as I softly extend the painting to the sides of the canvas for a finished look. The painting has a satin finish, is signed, wired and ready to hang.

Painting from her memories and personal vision, Lisa views the outside world from an inward perspective. She gathers information from walking and wandering, but she is not motivated to paint only "what the eye can see." Lisa is most concerned with capturing "the spirit" in her paintings, and it is her emotional response to her subject that inspires her paint. Always seeking to transcend rather than imitate, Lisa hopes her paintings offer her audience a reprieve from the everyday view. L.H. Ridabock was raised on the New England coast, and earned a B.F.A. Degree in painting from the University of New Hampshire. Lisa has always delved deeply into color, whether it be theoretical or psychological. Her professional experience includes: color styling for the Home Furnishings Industry; designing and marketing Ridabock Handblown art glass; and managing several fine art Galleries as a Director in the Boston and Seacoast areas. Lisa’s work is collected nationally, and she can be commissioned to create custom paintings.
