This piece is dedicated to my cousin Eric (1984-2011). Birds of Paradise (Blue Rose) is an abstract expressionist piece, one of my first ventures into this style of painting. The process was intuitive, using only the mental image of the flowers birds of paradise and a blue rose as my starting point.
