About The Artwork

he Wine Festival painting is part of a series of paintings inspired by photographs I took at the event. The emphasis in the painting is on the crowd of people, the strong contrast provided by the sun that creates magical shadows that blend in with the contrasts of black and white. The painting itself is not black and white, but a dark bluish brown hue reminiscent of black but not black, and it gives the painting a nostalgic look of old photography taken from 60s scenes. The technique is oil on canvas, but is reminiscent of a watercolor technique following diluting the paint with oil and turpentine in a way that does not make the painting look "heavy"

I Am a Contemporary Artist Born in 1975, married and a mother of two, a graduate of the Kalmania Art College and holds a bachelor’s degree in art and art teaching. For as long as I can remember, I have been painting. Despite having a bachelor’s degree in art most of the knowledge in art and painting I learned and taught myself on my own. Mostly from experience. The experience began as stated at a very young age. I always liked to scribble, including on the classroom desk which was laden with images and thoughts. The pages, or canvas, have always been a source of learning and development for me and I have never been afraid of them - I have always tried passionately to create and progress, and to reinvent myself. I was never afraid to "destroy" a painting. The canvas is my playground. In 2007 I opened my gallery where I create and exhibit in Kibbutz Shomrat in the Western Galilee, the gallery is an opening to a spectacular world rich in colors, textures, materials, techniques and genres. If you fancy various original home paintings and are not influenced by fashion, you are welcome to visit or wander the virtual gallery or physically visit the gallery at Kibbutz Shomrat and be impressed by the rich variety and quality of an original oil painting.
