View In My Room
When this work was created, news of child abuse in the Red, Yellow, and Blue Kindergartens emerged. This news first drew my attention to the safety and health issues of children. The original intention of this work was to call for the protection of children. But the actual situation is not as simple as I thought. The complexity of children is beyond imagination, and they may be both victims and perpetrators. So my purpose gradually changed during the creative process, becoming a reflection on human nature. The issue of children's thinking has become a question of exploring the root of human nature. From kindergarten events to now, there have been more and more news about children, which inevitably makes me doubt the accuracy of the statement that human nature is inherently good. However, from the children I have encountered, including my own childhood, the statement that human nature is inherently evil is not accurate. Perhaps this statement is more appropriate. But I am also a supporter of determinism, and I am not sure whether the cultivation of children in the future can change the good and evil of human nature... Since I cannot provide an answer, I can only present the problem and let the audience think for themselves.
