Contact us.Jossy Mayor is a Belgian/Luxembourgish artist born in Durban, South Africa. His varied and personal work of abstract and narrative expressionism is a universe made up of cartoons, symbols and faces in a range of colours dominated by reds, blues, grays, and blacks.
"The sky is blue only by convention, but red in reality" Alberto Giacometti.
Mayor creates dense and entangled works where one discovers beyond the first impression, a multitude of symbols and hidden images.
Living and working in Luxembourg since 1988, with his art studio based in the AAPL art studios in Luxembourg.
He has devoted himself to painting for more than thirty years and his works are found in private European collections. In addition, he conveys his curiosity, his emotion and his creative energy through his activities as screenwriter and filmmaker.
He is the writer/director/producer of the récent documentary film " Crise et Chuchotements".
