In Bevagna, Italy, the museum has a carved crucifixion scene. the sculpture is the inspiration for this and a description by an orthopedic surgeon who explained capitol punishment at the tiime was cruciifiion nailed at the wrist to ensure the victim did not come lose.That image remains ,for me,outside of Catholic imagery . I felt compelled to comment on the casual glance given to violence.
