Blessings is an offshoot of my raku series and incorporates my love of raku pottery, my fascination of Japanese Kanji symbols, and my passion in woodworking. I use acrylic texture that resembles raku pottery, thin pieces of wood to form parts of Kanji characters, and deeply saturated color. The stylized Japanese kanji characters in the center of this piece means blessings, fortune, or luck. The painting is on 40” x 16" x 1.5" museum-quality gallery wrapped canvas and is wired and ready to hang. It is the perfect size for that wall where you need length, or at the end of a hallway, or that skinny wall you always wanted to do something with. The turquoise color in this piece is gorgeous!
