ABOUT THE ARTWORK
In the deep, peaceful breathe I am taking in, everything melts, and passes away. The woods, the trees, the sky and my body all meld into this breathe I take; we are a single, organic whole. Boundaries simply cease to be. The use of a mixture of acrylic paint and acrylic medium creates a deeper, more detailed piece executed with quick, light, spontaneous brushstrokes. The texture of the piece is made more engaging with the deliberate cracking and lumping incorporated into the second layer. The variety of techniques creates an uneven, yet compelling, screen display.

I’m capturing the moments where everyday life and the imaginary meet, and spark. You can feel that my subjects are not only exist in fantasy world; that it is not simply art enclosed in a small canvas. I’m hoping to establish a closer connection for my audience between my art and real world we inhabit. I have been painting and exhibiting my artwork for over 10 years; I paint almost every day. I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I have exhibited and sold my work frequently before and since graduation, both directly to the public as well as through intermediaries such as galleries and agents. I have been commissioned to create original work as well. I moved to Ottawa in 2013 and started handmade art studio ‘Icecool Mountain’ in 2014. At this time, I create more art that reflects the beauty and culture of my new home, Canada. Inspired by the work of the Group of Seven early on in my education, having the opportunity to actually create work here in Canada has proven to be a rewarding experience.
