ABOUT THE ARTWORK

A small abstract little world - you can see an abstract landscape or seascape or just follow the emotions of blue. Maybe you can dream away, calm down, find peace and beauty. This painting consists of several layers that make traces and different light effects. The painting has little more turquoise than the camera can catch. Plus some silver that will sparkle when hit by light, so this painting will look different from different angles and at different times of day, just as a landscape does in reality. Light is important in my paintings as light means hope and future. Shown here with a silver floating frame example. Contact me if you want it framed like this! 30x30x2 cm, unframed, sides painted. Signed on the back, Ready to hang with hook on the back. (c) Gesa Reuter 2018

Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
