I grew up and still live in Portland Oregon. Though I’ve been creative and making work in various forms for much of my life, it wasn’t until deep challenges that I came to painting. My 20 year marriage had coming to an end, I live with chronic illness that has begun to have physical manifestations and my children are rapidly moving toward greater independence. Life has options. Mine seemed to be to give in to grief or to find a way to keep going. I found painting. With painting, as with life, I embrace random dynamics of inspiration, while also bringing my own determination to the mix. My art practice has brought me solace.
