About The Artwork
The figures in the painting are the same woman. I put the two poses together because I wanted to spark an emotion from the viewer. I wanted to create a mysterious setting so there would be questions about why the women were posed the way they were. Was it something the seated woman said to create a startling response from the standing woman? Or, was it something the standing woman said that upset the seated woman. I always like to paint women in various settings especially depicting emotional situations. The artwork is gallery wrapped with art hanging wire included.

Originally from New Jersey, I studied at The Art Students League in New York, then the Ridgewood Art Center in New Jersey where I studied with Arthur Maynard, a prior student of Francis Vincent DeMond. I moved to Southern California in 1989. I've taken workshops with David Leffel, Everett Raymond Kinstler, Wolf Kahn, Marybeth Mackenzie, and many other notable artists. I worked as a financial advisor for 30 years, then retired in July of 2019 so I could devote my time to art.
