Lauren Adams is a painter who creates abstract works inspired by the landscape of her home in the Allegheny Plateau of Appalachia. Her work is minimal yet expressive in style, imbued with an underlying energy. Lauren's work has been featured on blogs such as West Elm, HGTV, Elements of Style, and Kelly Market. She has exhibited her work extensively at various venues including her solo exhibition at The Slingluff Gallery in Philadelphia, PA, the Annex Gallery in Charleston, WV, and a two-person show at Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art at Ligonier Valley. Recently, a large scale work of Adams' was displayed in D.C. Design House 2014, her region's premiere showroom event located in Washington, D.C. Lauren is represented by Anne Neilson Fine Art, Jeffrey Meier Gallery, and is also a juried artist of Tamarack's David L. Dickirson Gallery. Adams is a graduate of Fairmont State University and West Virginia University, where she holds a BA in Studio Art and a BFA in Visual Art, respectively. While at FSU, Lauren studied with acclaimed painter Lynn Boggess and alongside her future husband, Derek Overfield. Her work is included in the collections of Fairmont State University and the West Virginia State Museum, as well as numerous national and international private collections.
