ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Oil painting on canvas, size 100x80cm. PAINTING STYLE: A minimalist oil painting in shades of white and blue ranging from navy blue. At first glance, it may be associated with an abstract landscape, but it is a sublime play of colors, planes and lines, sometimes disappearing and sometimes establishing boundaries. The subtle colors and reduced composition of the painting will fit perfectly into contemporary interiors with additions of white and gray, or wooden elements. IMPORTANT INFORMATION: technique - oil painting size - 100x80cm signed (name and surname of the artist, year of creation) painted sides - ready to hang on the wall

Maja Gajewska - born in 1982 in Lodz (Poland). Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw (2001-2006). Master's degree at the Faculty of Graphic Art (2006). Winner of the silver medal "Lorenzo il Magnifico" in the mixed media category for the work "Polkas - Polish Swallows" during the 13th Biennale in Florence 2021. The artist creates within oil painting, spatial installation, graphics and drawing. Her painting is characterized by the search for new forms, lines and colorful patches. She rejects figurativeness for internal structure. In spatial installations, a strictly rigorous form transfers the power of work to expression and not to specific performance. Intentional lack of background causes that the central part of the work is the wire "entanglement", from which the outlines of undefined human figures emerge. The graphics show a minimalist approach to the form and colour. Since 2013 she has been running her own Art Studio. In addition to individual and collective exhibitions, her works also appear on many cultural events, such as Art Fairs, Design Festivals. She cooperates with Art Galleries, interior designers and architectural studios. Her works can be found in private collections, including Austria, Belgium, France, Spain, Canada, Sweden, Great Britain and USA.
