ABOUT THE ARTWORK

The trigger for creativity can be anything : color of the flowers I see everyday - but today it captivated my attention; new radio song, verse of the poem, photography, other piece of work from fellow artists, experiences from lunch walk or from exotic countries. The inspiration sometimes become very basic. In the case of the Japanese brush cycle, it was new brush. By then the Japanese thread appeared in my imagination. It was growing in time and space. When I took the brush, chose black paint and had a look at white paper, those connections became a direct link to Japan. My interests of learning about other cultures, visiting Japan, Japanese minimalism, love for paper and ink. The Inspiration for his was the line from the book I read, about the combination of three colors. You could also called this painting “Siblings”, as I painted it during my not seen for a long time brother. Abstract art, acrylics on canvas textured paper A3 (420x297mm), 300gsm

The artistic journey of Marta Obojska is a complex intertwining of her passions and experiences, meticulously woven into a tapestry of unique expression. Informed by the multifaceted symphony of her senses— the melodies she hears, the vistas she absorbs, the scents she encounters, the literature that engrosses her— Obojska crafts an alluring medley of colours, shapes, and textures. The artist seeks to distil this intricate sensory orchestra into a singular, accessible image. In most of her artworks she is using only two or three colours, playing with texture, gloss and matt. Her work mirrors aspects of the natural world and human nature, expertly leaving room for interpretation and ambiguity. The artist’s vision extends an invitation to the viewer to contribute to the completion of her work. Her academic pursuits led her towards psychology and a life away from birthplace of Warsaw, Poland. As Obojska approached a decade of working with acrylic paints, a choice inspired by years spent in the United Kingdom, is periodically displayed at prestigious venues such as the Windsor Art Fair, Surrey Contemporary Art Fair, and the Affordable Art Fair in Battersea, London. Local galleries and art magazines also frequently feature her work. Currently you can find her residing in a picturesque island of Mallorca. She believes that Art represents a critical ingredient in the recipe for human survival. It serves as a wellspring of joy, inspiration, and wellness.
