"Blurry Minds, Safe Havens I" Painting

For as long as I can remember, I have been fascinated by the interplay between drawing and abstract painting. It took me years of artistic evolution to realize how to fuse these two elements into a cohesive body of work. Today, my practice continues to push the boundaries of both drawing and abstraction, a process where form and subject matter go hand in hand.
My work gestures toward early memories, a lifelong fascination with children’s book illustrations, and the darker undercurrents of cautionary tales. I create an anarchic imagery—a compulsive, collage-like combination of drawing, painting, and doodling that hovers unsettlingly between the figurative and the abstract. In a digital world dominated by AI, where everything is expected to be neatly packaged and aesthetically pleasing, room for raw experimentation is shrinking. My work resists this pressure.
While my politically and erotically charged paintings refer obliquely to the current socio-cultural climate, they remain non-judgmental—I am simply fascinated by humanity in all its guises. Growing up, a religious and nationalist fervor has overtaken my native land, turning it into a place deeply consumed by traditional family values and daily nationalist rhetoric.
