Cody Ray Miller is an offbeat American painter, author, and visionary with a modern yet varied style. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Dallas Baptist University in 2014. Frequently Asked Questions Q: Why are many of your paintings titled in Japanese? A: I am a student of Japanese language and culture. In some cases, word plays which are available in Japanese are not possible in English. Q: Where do you find inspiration for your work? A: Everywhere! Life itself is art. As an autobiographical creative, each piece has a profound and personal meaning to me and yet it is the meaning created by the viewer which I find most intriguing. Two people, confronted with the same image, can draw dichotomous meanings. This, to me, is a delightful wonder. Q: Is it true your paintings are signed in blood? A: All paintings are signed with a drop of blood, not signed in blood (using blood as ink/paint for a written signature). This is my signature. Q: Where do you sign your paintings? A: So as not to interfere with the aesthetic of the work itself, all paintings are signed on the back of the canvas itself (not the frame). Q: How do you price your work? A: Value is always determined by the buyer and not the seller. While others attempt to "objectively" price their work, I am totally fluid in pricing and always willing to work with motivated collectors.
