ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work was inspired by Artist painter Gerhard Richter in the way he uses pallet knifes to scrape the paint across canvas. I used his methods as the foundation of this painting and then refined what I saw into a surreal abstract water landscape.

The thematic ideas behind my paintings, derive from an exploration of the mystical aspect of spirituality, the natural world, and the subconscious/dream state. I explore how texture and color reflects and transforms light. I use this fluctuation as a means of developing a concept of mystical and dream-like landscapes and beings. My paintings are a look into the subconscious mind by way of telling visual stories as if woven on a tapestry.
