Amy Raymond is an emerging artist based in Sydney, Australia. Amy has been a creative all her life, gaining an Advanced Diploma in Graphic Design before going on to work in advertising as an Art Director for ten years. Since starting a family she has rediscovered her love of painting and now works full time on her art practice. Amy creates unique seascapes that focus on the ever changing colours and textures of the ocean, beaches and surrounding rock pools. With a strong emphasis on the coastal lifestyle of Sydneysiders, Amy seeks to capture the movement and energy often not only of the ocean landscape but of those inhabiting it. Her art practice blurs the lines between realism and abstraction, with elements such as her unique figures representing life within the landscape rather than concentration on the individual. Colour and vibrancy are a recurring aesthetic used to spark a joyous and nostalgic response by the viewer.
