Bouquet Painting

This work featured as the centrepiece in my 2018 solo exhibition, entitled 'Please Slow Down.' It is with a heavy heart that I have decided to sell an artwork which means so much to me, but the proceeds from the sale will help fund future artistic endeavours. The piece is formed from an amalgamation of influences that slowly, over an entire year in production, accumulated to fill this sizeable canvas. A collection of memories manifested in exuberant bursts of colour in oils and spray-paint, a joyful scattering of floral imagery and playful suggestions of figures, all inhabit a uniquely textured space that keeps the viewer surprised with a depth that allows elements to disappear and come back, leading the eye to its next exciting point of intrigue. The texture of this painting is provided by an intuitive decision to utilise a type of liquid acoustic sealant, which has been applied expressively and scored so that when paint is applied on top it follows the channels of the material, which shoot off in every direction and imbue the work with a complexity and vitality that I feel is responsible for much of the work's uplifting properties. The edges of the canvas have been left raw to further intensify the impact of the centre, naturally framing the harmonious commotion. Half frenzied dreamscape, half abstracted firework display; this artwork in its awesome scale and tireless detail will entertain its new owner for years. A lot of heart has been poured into this painting and it is loaded with curious little intricacies, left turns and gorgeous colour combinations. It is truly a feast for the eyes, a total showstopper and a fine example of how deeply personal experience can transpire into a universally enjoyable work of art. Artwork will arrive complete with four mirror hooks, screws enough for hanging and predrilled pilot holes for simple and speedy assembly. Stretcher frame was constructed by hand by the Artist. Finest materials have been used throughout production.
