ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Bower, by artist Stephanie Laine, is a new painting from her Little Gem series and can be hung vertically or horizontally. This painting is created on canvas affixed to a 2.5cm solid plywood base and comes framed in a floating frame (as per images) so she's ready to hang. The framed size is 22 x 27cm. The painting is more beautiful in person as the nuances, textures, detail and colour variations can be difficult to capture in a photo. The Little Gem series conveys a sense of freedom, spontaneity and depth using a combination of acrylic layering, brushwork and oil pastels. Bower is a combination of blues and browns with a touch of navy oil pastel line work. All paintings are finished in 2 coats of satin lacquer for protection and longevity.

Stephanie Lives in the beautiful hinterland of the Gold Coast surrounded by nature. Daughter of political cartoonist Larry Pickering and one of eleven children, she enjoyed a colourful and interesting childhood. With a background in graphic design she was a partner in 'Studio Otto Illustration and Design' for 12 years before deciding to devote her time fully to painting in 2007. Solo Exhibition venues include Gold Coast 'Home of the Arts', Bundall, Doggett Street Studio, Newstead Brisbane and The Art Lovers Australia Gallery in Melbourne.
