Breezy Surf Painting

This is an original oil painting inspired by the ocean off the coast of the Azores Islands in the Atlantic ocean. I want to convey the bright sun, sea breeze and the feeling one gets sitting by the ocean mesmerized by the waves and sounds. The feeling of sitting by the sea is universal and creates a sense of calm and feeling our place in nature. We are reminded that we are very small and yet connected to all that is around us. I am drawn to the sea as I was born and raised on the west coast. I work with oil paints and use a variety of brushes, shaper brushes and palette knives to create texture and push and pull the paint across the canvas to emulate the texture of the ocean. It is my intent to transform the view to the place of calm.
