" Breezy spot " Since 2012 that Júlio Alves perform the most fruitful series of paintings centered in the idea of building a symbolic landscape from the combination of what is the natural view with the sedimentation made by the memory tool. The painting is 28,7 H x 36,2 W in a 30,3 x 37,8 x 1,6 inch frame and is ready to hang. This Artwork is hand signed and dated in the backside. "My work is deeply linked with the world around me. Everything I do is inspired in lived experience, places I see, booksI read, people I met, all that are buildings blooks of the constructions I made, I see them as special models of tension, a "momento" that yelds the power of tranformation." Julio Alves has produced a diverse body of work that includes painting, drawing, installation and sculpture. With his studio based in Estoril, in the portuguese atlantic coast, he has developed his activity for nearly three decades and has carried out several solo and group exhibitions. With an academic background in architecture, subsequently studied painting at the Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon and in recent years has been devoted entirely to painting. It was during the last decade that he continually has developed the theme of the landscape that is still the core of his work.
