" Breezy spot " Since 2012 that Júlio Alves perform the most fruitful series of paintings centered in the idea of building a symbolic landscape from the combination of what is the natural view with the sedimentation made by the memory tool. "The knowledge of the landscape is cumulative and evolves with experience, a place is not simply a sum of images, each place has a "signature" derived from events and circunstances that led us there, the understanding of the place implies awareness of what we see but is also linked to the symbolic and historical root of men, the present and the past are linked and together they perform an encyclopedia of the transformation of the world. The painting is 28,7 H x 36,2 W in a 30,3 x 37,8 x 1,6 inch frame and is ready to hang. This Artwork is hand signed and dated in the backside. Julio Alves has produced a diverse body of work that includes painting, drawing, installation and sculpture. With his studio based in Estoril, in the portuguese atlantic coast, he has developed his activity for nearly three decades and has carried out several solo and group exhibitions. With an academic background in architecture, subsequently studied painting at the Society of Fine Arts of Lisbon and in recent years has been devoted entirely to painting. It was during the last decade that he continually has developed the theme of the landscape that is still the core of his work.
