About The Artwork
I used to raise chickens. With an incubator in my studio, I placed newly laid eggs until I began to hear chirping. Simple as that. While growing to barnyard size in my studio, a cat damaged one chicks wing. Not able to end the chick's life, I placed it in a match box next to the stove. The next morning, the chick was perfectly happy, it's wing in one corner, the chick in the other. The chick became a one wing rooster and lived to run the barnyard. I painted this image to honor it's courage to survive...glh

Oct 16, 1942 in Kansas City,MO.
I live with my wife and many animal friends on 30 acres of pines one hour from Canada.
We invite as many artists and
teachers to our home that can
find us. We're hoping for some
music persons this summer.
I work in all mediums on canvas and any surface that will put up
with my submind to create art.
