Buddhist Monks Bathing Painting

This clay painting was inspired by beaty of Sri Lankan nature. It is a great illustration of Sri Lankan rural life and the old customs of Buddhist monks who traditionally bathe and wash themselves in the pools of the waterfalls. This is a real place near their monastery, and thanks to their leave I was lucky enough to capture this moment on my painting. This relief painting was handcrafted using multiple layers of polymer clay on foamboard, baked for strength and durability, and finished with a passe-partout and wooden frame.
