Buon appetito Painting

My family emigrated to the UK from the British colonies of Burma in 1966. I was 7 years old at the time and couldn’t speak English. This resulted in the school abdicating responsibility for me and I was given paper and crayons and told to spend my time drawing. This was such a joy to me, and gradually art became an important vehicle through which I could see with my mind’s eye and express my developing emotions. Once I turned eighteen however, I gave up painting in order to turn to other pursuits. My artistic ability lay dormant for many years until recently, while on a family holiday in Venice, my emotions and passion to paint the extraordinary beauty of that city came flooding in. As soon as possible, I returned to my easel. My desire is to create paintings that will stir hearts and open eyes to respond with delight to the world on the canvas which is before them.
