Butlins Minehead, crazy golf and chair lift Painting

A sunny family day on the crazy golf at Butlins Minehead becomes a post nuclear vomit fest through the application of paint. An acknowledgment that not all image retouching is digital. "I wanted to think about non-digital archives, physical collections of images that I could literally /interact with manipulate/change permanently. I bought a lot of postcards of British scenes, towns, villages etc in which featured incidental people but whose primary subject was ‘Romford Market’ or ‘The pier and esplanade at Teignmouth’. I decide I wanted to make the people the subject matter so ‘minimised’ the background or locations. The results are often isolating, nostalgic, melancholy or humorous. I have been 'altering' the work of legendary British postcard maker John Hinde. The paintings are made on vintage original Hinde postcards and are unique pieces".
