ABOUT THE ARTWORK
I live in Lisbon, a city by the sea. Since I was born, going to the beach was my family’s preferred holidays, so since I can remember the sea is part of my life. I’ve grown up by the sea, and the colors, the light, the sound, the smell of the sea are forever part of who I am. By the Sea is where I feel most free at. My seascape watercolors are a way to bring home the joy happiness and all those wonderful feelings we get from the sea as the colors and the medium keeps vibrating every time we look at them. The minimal size contrast with the huge size of the sea. Watercolors are the perfect medium to grasp the translucidity of water. 300 gr high quality watercolor paper with rough edges made by hand. I have drawn and painted since I can remember. I live and work in Lisbon in old apartment renovation and restauration. Lisbon is a city by the sea and I adore beach life. Parallel to my work I studied 5 years of drawing and 1 year of painting aswell as aesthetics at Lisbons’ Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes. I attended a watercolor course with spanish painter Juan Linares. I attended several years of meditation school and practiced yoga. My paintings express and bring to surface my experience and feelings of my inner experiences and way of life
