By the way Painting

Born in Buenos Aires in 1971, I grew up and studied in Barcelona. She graduated with a bachelor in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona in 1995. I used to practice the nomadisme, painitng in diferente cities, like, Berlin, Sevilla, Barcelona, Buenos Aires and Mallorca. I work with watercolours on paper in large formats or acrylics on canvas. Even though the outcome may look traditional, the use of computer media to filter the images is evident in her work. The pictorial space is structured by the dynamics of a computer screen. I use images of daily life and ornamental as a seductive trap for a reading the view to the mysterious and hermetic. I transmutes the daily life into the divine, turning it into Arcane: creating images with mysterious and evocative capacities with multiple meanings. I takes use of found images, and by emptying their contents through repetition, fragmentation and a recycling of stereotypes, gradually she is turning the images into depictions of the Divine. With this method she has built a collection of a kind of recurrent iconography throughout the last years. There are certain archetypes that continually reappear: the eyes, the saint, the Blessed Mother, the M (Mariana, Mother, Subject, etc ...), Rabbit, Tiger. Arguably I paints like if I was making a perfume: the form is distilled and squeezed to extract its essential part. This again is mixed with other essencial parts, to build a symbol with its own scent, a composition of different notes and evocations with a value that can not be reduced to the sum of it's components.
