My work focuses on any, the ordinary, the apparently not aesthetic. I trace this in the spaces we live every day, in the indefinite of daily experience to which we pay no attention. In the 2020 CONFINI series, light is the center of attention. The subject-place is neutral, not described analytically but seen and experienced as a space defined by lights and shadows that are the protagonists of a scene that reveals a hidden essence. It is the experience of any, random and known places. Not captivating and not seductive; but revealed in a simplicity charged with a meaning that can be perceived on condition of feeling inside that place. In other words, representing the presence as a space that starts from the self understood as the zero point of spatiality, experienced from the inside; therefore not seen according to its outer shell. Things are not in front of us but around us and they speak to us through light and shadow. I find it interesting to present these places of abandonment, fast transit and carelessness because they are the testimony of our age. Of an era made up of the stratification of urban objects sedimented to the point of barely showing the original layout, the individual character. Here the light of day and the shadows of the night let emerge a poetic with an existentialist tone. Right there, in the small fragment, in the insignificant, in the marginal, being is concentrated, our placement in space and therefore our relationship with reality. This thought, if we can call it that, is not a knowing derived from vision but a feeling derived from perception.
